Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) President Masala Mulaudzi says Norman Mapeza is history to the club and the side is moving forward with new coach Joel Masutha. Masutha was announced today with his technical team comprising of Lucky Nelukau, Bosondo Stephane the goalkeeper coach and Wisani Nemurendeni as the Physio.
The Zimbabwe born Mapeza was reported to be a possible TTM recruitment for the head coach job but however left the Vhembe based outfit earlier this week.
Frunsport.com was told by TTM Chief Executive Officer Sello Chokoe on Monday that Mapeza was never in the club’s books and never trained with the team. Addressing a media briefing outside Polokwane on Thursday Mulaudzi explained that Mapeza was considered and even given a contract with terms and conditions to sign.
However differences came when the coach could not keep his end of the deal which was a stamped passport and to take care of the work permit himself among other things. Mulaudzi explained in length what went down.
“What then happened is we invited Mr Mapeza to come and join the team. Before coming through we sent him the contract after agreeing on the terms and conditions of the contract. We sent him the contract while he was still in our neighbouring country.
The contract was already signed by ourselves cos we agreed on the terms. Mr Mapeza said due to poor infrastructure on his side he will give us the contract on his arrival” opened Mulaudzi.
After things went south between TTM management and Mapeza which included the former Chippa United mentor‘s hotel room being locked Mulaudzi claims he tried to reach out to Mapeza which yielded no results.
“The next thing I was surprised when I got a call that Mr Mapeza when he got to his hotel his hotel rooms were locked. Why were the hotel rooms locked? I was told that the CEO was under pressure that he was not getting the stamped passport from Mr Mapeza, he was not getting the signed contract, the work permit was not there then they pressed a panic and took a decision that Mr Mapeza must produce all those documents before they could proceed with any service” continued Mulaudzi.
Joel Masutha initially named technical director of Vhadau vha Damani but has since taken over as head coach with Mulaudzi saying he has confident in the former Black Leopards mentor.
