Mamelodi Sundowns academy graduate, Promise Mkhuma is adapting well at training with the senior team and this was confirmed by the head coach Pitso Mosimane. Mkhuma penned a five-year deal with the Chloorkop based outfit in January, after a number of excellent performances in the Multichoice Diski Challenge.
The 19-year-old bright prospect is yet to make his senior debut, but he is currently working hard at training to find his place on matchday squad. However, coach Mosimane acknowledged the effort that Mkhuma is contributing at training although he still needs to adapt to the intensity of senior football.
Mosimane also mentioned that they young superstar reminds him of his former academy graduate, Percy Tau, but he doesn’t want to put Mkhuma under pressure. Although the coach noticed some difficulties for the youngster at training but believes he will learn and adapt very well as he grows within the boundaries of the club.
“Promise [Mkhuma] is a top-scorer for Sundowns in the MDC, has a special left-foot, specialist on free-kicks and set-pieces, he is very quick and good with one-on-one’s,” Mosimane addressed the media.
“He reminds me of Percy [Tau] but I don’t want to use the name Percy a lot because it will put him under pressure, he has a lot to learn and to work on but has very good left foot and a player that is coming from our youth programmes also.”
“Another player coming from the youth to the senior team, he is training very well, but he has difficulties in adjusting in terms of the intensity of the game here, because sometimes he wants to sit on the ball for too long and they press him and take the ball, but it is okay he is still young and is learning, we have time for that,” Mosimane concluded.
