Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko believes that the quality within the Spurs ranks will see them over the line when the Carabao Cup Final comes around.

Sissoko has been at the London club for five season now and is yet to win a trophy with the side, but the Frenchman insists that they will be the ones picking up the trophy this time around.

“I have been at the club for many years and we have been fighting hard to win something over the years, we have been fighting but always been missing that small detail,” he said.

“In football that small detail can change everything, I hope this year is going to be a good one for me and for everyone who has been at the club for a long time.

“We all deserve it, there are still plenty of games to play until the Final, but we believe in our qualities, our squad, so let’s go on and fight together.

The midfielder opened the scoring for Spurs with a powerful header after 12 minutes as the home side went on to beat Brentford by two-goals-to-nil, and Sissoko couldn’t take the smile off his face at full-time.

“I was playing a bit higher when we had the ball and when I am in that position I can go in the box, so I saw the space and went,” he added.

“It was an amazing ball from [Sergio] Reguilón and I connected with it very well and scored.

“I am very happy with my goal, it has been a long time since I have scored and I know the lads are very happy for me.”
